The Johnson Family

I met this lovely family at their house in Littleton, Colorado on a gorgeous Tuesday evening.  We decided to take some backyard shots with their sweet, feisty 9-month-old puppy Eleanor.  I placed them on the retaining wall, puppy calm and started snapping.  They looked right out of a magazine and then suddenly the puppy jumped to heights I had never seen a dog reach and everyone jumped up.  Unbeknownst to any of us, I had literately placed them right on a wasps nest located in the retaining wall.  Sharron and the puppy were victims of some wasps stings.  I have never seen a dog go from so playful to being the saddest dog I have ever seen so quickly.  Poor thing.  Everyone was okay and they bravely continued on.

We headed down to the Platte River to take some more shots in the beautiful light of golden hour.  This is my favorite kind of lighting and with such a gorgeous family, it was effortless to get amazing photos.  Thank you to the Johnson's for letting me take your photos.  I will affectionately consider them my honey badger family.  They were stung by bees and they didn't even care.

Yes, this was before the wasp swarm.
