Erin and Ryan are the type of couple that don’t know you are in the same room. They are so madly in love with one another you can see where their focus is at all times, with each other. Ryan and Erin are the kind of Colorado couple you will find in the mountains adventuring, hiking and for sure snowboarding. They fell in love in Keystone and so it was fitting they started their married life together, at the top of Keystone mountain at the Timber Lodge and I was there to photograph it all.
Erin and Ryan decided to have their first look at the top of the mountain. Ryan waited anxiously for Erin to ride up the gondola. Ryan, anxious, nervous and excited would start throwing stones off the mountain in anticipation of seeing Erin. As Erin approached there were already tears flowing before he even turned around. As he turned around he opened the flood gates. Ryan, Erin, Heather (my second shooter) and myself had tears running down our faces. They were so very happy, so in love and so excited to start the rest of their lives together. Their first look was so emotional, charged and private and was the definition of what I love for first looks. They get to see each other and immediately wrap their arms around each other and have their moment.
We headed on the gondola over to their ceremony. Ryan excitedly said to Erin, “Babe, how many times have we been down this ski run, and now we are getting married here!” Not only with this location absolutely breathtaking and the epitome of Colorado, it was a location that was very near and dear to their heart. I loved that so much.
Their ceremony was performed by Erin’s brother-in-law and it was full of laughing, tears of happiness and maybe my favorite thing, Ryan, doing the flossing dance right after he said his vows. Both sides of the family were so happy and close. As we headed into the reception the celebration and laughter continued. I could have stayed here all night.
