2018 Year in Review-Colorado Kate Photography

I absolutely love January 1st. It’s actually probably my favorite time of the year. I look back on the last year and see all the amazing things I’ve achieved, reflect on the things I could have done better and remember the lessons that I learned. To me all of it is good, even the low, because without the lows, you can’t appreciate the highs.

However, January 1st isn’t just about reflecting, it’s about looking ahead. It’s about starting a blank new chapter and it’s always so exciting. I think of all of the hope and possibility and I’m just buzzing with positive energy. I love to write, and my favorite thing is receiving a blank journal and think about all the words I can pour in it. So January 1st is like buying a new blank journal, it’s my favorite time of the year!

This isn’t a a resolution blog, this isn’t a goals blog, this is a 2018 Year in Review blog, so here I go.

I made a goal of how many wedding I wanted to shoot and exceeded it. Each of my couples were so amazing and so kind and every single wedding I left drunk on love. There is something so special about capturing two people in love!

My family traveled around to Cancun, Chicago, Madison and the famous Lake Geneva and saw the Maroon Bells in the Fall. We had some amazing mountain getaways. It wasn’t so long ago, even going to the mountains wasn’t something we could afford so I have so much gratitude that we were able to do any of these trips.

So enjoy my year in review, some professional photos, some just personal photos, but a little glimpse into my life. Cheers to 2019!

My heart shattered in a million pieces as I had to say goodbye to my first baby Charlie Girl. I was lucky to have her for 14 beautiful years. It was a much harder loss than I could have imagined. Xander took this photo and it’s probably my favorite …

That time we took Mavis to Black Canyon and she was not happy about the $20 entrance fee. (Not pictured, Mavis) These girls make me a better person.

This scene will always bring a smile to my heart. This is the first time my kids saw fireflies and they were just as excited as I was the first time I saw them!

Turned 40 without much ado, and it was perfect. Just a hike, my family and some of my hubs ribeyes.

Don’t let this fool you, she complained the entire way up. But was excited we were almost to the top and ending the hike.
